Zóbel’s Saeta period lasted from 1957 to 1959. He started working on the Serie Negra paintings in 1959 and ended with Ornitóptero in 1962. The exhibition features three works that were completed within this time period that are not exclusively classified as either a Saeta or Serie Negra, but bear some of the same gestural qualities and composition ideas.
